Noizybutpurple

Marina Gröpel, known as noizybutpurple, is a Zurich-based new media and street artist whose work blends art, design, and technology. After studying art, design, and media at the Merz Akademie in Stuttgart, she began integrating her technical background into her creative practice. Today, she is one of the emerging voices advancing digital art through NFC, VR, and AR technology.

Her work focuses on building interactive and accessible digital worlds. Under the alias of noizybutpurple, she creates narrative-driven projects that encourage viewers to take an active role rather than remain observers. One of her most successful signature pieces, DidYouFindMySticker, sent people across the city to discover NFC-tagged alien stickers, each scan revealing a story linked to her characters.

Marina continues to explore deeper levels of immersion through Purple8Studios, a collective she co-founded. There, she is developing Alien Tale Experience, a VR project that invites audiences into her digital ecosystems to meet her alien characters in their native environments. She is also working on a virtual gallery concept where visitors can engage with her creations and even influence the value of her characters through interactive participation.

AELIG & Noizybutpurple

Our collaboration with Marina began during AELIG's crowdfunding campaign on WeMakeIt, where her contribution played a key role in helping us reach our goal with great success! For the campaign, we worked closely together to bring her aliens into the spotlight, showcasing her characters through both digital storytelling and real-world experiences.

Together, AELIG and noizybutpurple bring digital storytelling into real-world spaces, showing that technology and emotion can coexist in a way that is both futuristic and deeply human.
